XVA Gallery
XVA presents two unique exhibitions “Behrouz Rae/ After 29 Years” and “Five Artists X 3 Dimensions”, which are both being held at XVA Gallery Dubai from January 10 – 30, 2009.
1. Behrouz Rae/ After 29 years
This is the first major one-person show of Behrouz Rae’s works in the UAE. Behrouz Rae’s stream-of-consciousness journey/notations are always works in progress. They embrace many different media like photography, writings, performance, installations, and videos. He is a contemporary artist in every sense of the word and an inheritor of all of art history, east and west.
2. Five Artists X 3 Dimensions
This exhibition is a small attempt to bring together artists from different generations who deal in their unique way with the 3D dimension in art “sculpture”. However, none of them sculpt.
Sculpture is a very general term given to art works in 3 dimensions, but the way each artist (Kamran Diba, Mahsa Karimizadeh, Kambiz Sabri, Sahand Hessamian, Sara Abbasian) interprets this is the surprise here.
