Rafa Nasiri, Green Art Gallery, Dec 13th 2008 until January 20th, 2009
One of the leading Iraqi artists of his generation, Rafa continues to be influenced by the Arabic script and chinese culture, having travelled to China to study printmaking at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing after completing his studies at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad. The exhibition will showcase large scale works on canvas in addition to Rafa’s acclaimed works on paper.
A winner of the famous Gulbenkian Foundation Scholarship, Rafa Nasiri’s work has been included in international touring exhibitions. In 2006, his work was included in the “Word into Art” exhibition at the British Museum, which travelled to the DIFC in March 2008.
