ZENA ASSI, “Public Space” at Art Sawa from 26th January – 10th May 2009.
Assi chooses to completely fill her canvasses with interwoven lines set against bold fields of colour abstractions. It is this unique style that has proven so popular amongst the region’s art lovers, not only in her solo exhibition in Beirut, but also as a resident artist at Dubai’s Art Sawa where she has been regularly featured during the gallery’s collective exhibitions.
Born in Tripoli, Assi now lives and works in Beirut where she creates her nonpareil works of art. As a relatively new artist, she held her first solo exhibition, Cité et Citadins (City and Citizens) in Beirut last year.
