Born in the town of Ushak, Turkey and now based in Vancouver, Canada. Coplu’s impressive journey as an artist started as a young child. His mother, a weaver, taught him about figures, the meanings of patterns and the emotional effectiveness of color. Following his first art exhibition in 1984, Coplu has since become a well-loved and widely collected artist with exhibitions throughout Europe, North America and Japan.
Coplu’s work is a mirror, reflecting feelings, beliefs, thoughts, fears and experiences. In his paintings clouds symbolize dreams; hearts symbolize love, boats symbolize adventure and journey. His paintings are full of hope and emotions that human beings hold within their soul but shed away with the society’s strict rules. He believes that the happiness and beauty of human life lies in the journey of dreaming and loving each other.
